Christmas Cards! Hate them or love them, they are an undefeated staple at Christmas time.
We love Personalised Printed Christmas Cards. We see them as an opportunity to show people around you, professional or not, that you are thinking of them during the festive season where we’re reminded of the importance of our loved ones.
If you send a Christmas Card to someone this year, think about putting some extra thought and your own personal touch onto it by hand making it.
It’s important at this time of the year when we’re all focused on Christmas trees we remember trying to do our best to help the environment by reducing paper wastage. Christmas Cards on Recycled Paper are a great alternative for a card made on 100% recycled paper.
Our first card is a set of cards that go so well together. Made out of a textured paper called Kraft paper, these cards already have the feel of handmade craft. Other uses of kraft paper include personalised kraft paper business cards and printed kraft paper posters. The materials used on top of the Christmas card for the snowflake generation are so perfectly aligned yet cute that you can give them to people you have close AND/OR business relationships with.
We assume this Christmas card would be aimed more at Young Adults as it doesn't seem super fun but is still very creative and is very symmetrical.
Now this card is a special one. You may remember folding paper and cutting snowflakes out of it as a little kid. This card is essentially the same thing, however, it has been taken up a few levels.
The standing Christmas tree in the centre starts to fold and as you open the card it almost grows out of the centre, along with all the gifts around it.
We’ve discussed before the sentimental value of Christmas cards and third on the list is this absolutely beautiful Christmas card, that we assume will be a personal one. One that will probably not be used for any business gain.
We know it's not completely Handmade so-to-speak, however, the characters of the faces have been made specifically for those people. The accessories the characters are wearing are indeed handmade and it's those little details that really show the thought in Christmas Cards.
We can't tell you how impressed we are with the simplicity of this handmade card design. The shapes created on a design computer program have been printed onto a tape roll. Then using that said tape, to form the shape of a Christmas tree!
This works so well because of the pattern designed on the tape, the Christmassy feel combined with the brilliant idea to make it into a shape rather than just an extra touch on the wrapping of Christmas presents.
Next on the list, an outstandingly creative card. Using a transparent sheet of paper and cute little Christmas shapes and decorations, this card displays some nice depth with a cut-out that doesn't look tacky! The snow globe in the centre is pieced together well and gives a simple layer of craft and care.
A very resourceful Christmas Card, taking spare buttons (as you can see they are actually all different) and a strip cut out from a Custom Table Cloth, and combining them on a Christmas Card to create a very playful and cute Christmas Card for your loved ones.
We admit that creating many of these would only be feasible if you really had that many spare buttons, however, they are very accessible on the internet and at a very cheap price!
Now, this Christmas card was able to almost envision an ideal of Christmas in a card that features a Hare.
They have drawn the image of a Hare and instead of dressing them in a Christmassy costume or outfit. They have cut out an image in the shape of the Hare's clothes and simply stuck it on top of him.
One of the more technically crafted Christmas cards. Here they have used Kraft paper as the background card layer, which like we mentioned before, gives that handmade feel already.
Layering on top a woven sheet of silver material that gives the Christmas feel by almost creating a visual of a snowy frosty cold window.
The final layer completes the card's incredible vision with a cross-stitch pattern representing a snowman! We thought this was a very special way to complete the card and thought it should probably be aimed at young people. The art of cross-stitching is simple in theory but to get the imagery completed in such a cute and tidy finish is special.
This card made this list simply because we think it's one that everyone can make and it looks very cool. One thing we could add to the red background is some circles to represent snow.
Effectively this is made out of two sheets of paper, one red and one white. These combined allow you to cut out the white one and have the negative space of red at the back.
If you're not super skilful with calligraphy, find a lovely font online, print and trace onto the white card. Use a scalpel and cut out the negative space of the font, the rest of the background is combined with triangles of different sizes to create a background of Christmas trees!
Our final card of the blog shows off a similar cut-out feature as the previous card, this one, however, doesn't represent negative space but is almost a cute window box that the centrepiece is in.
The Christmas wreath, which usually goes on your front door, is placed in the centre made up of small pieces of thread and green paint to represent the same texture and feel of a Christmas Tree. Combining the wreath with the red silk ribbons around it gives off a strong red Christmas vibe.
To complete it, they have attached some Christmas bells that are normally used by Carol singers in the festive season. The gold finish of them really ups the class of it all and is honestly such a strong visual. A bit of personalisation on this and it would have been perfect.
