As we move towards a post-lockdown, UK and world, businesses and industries all over are racking their brains to find ways to aid this transition. As we begin reopening public spaces and workspaces, it's becoming crucial to make sure we have all of the correct provisions in place in order to provide a safe environment. Working towards creating a safer environment that follows accurate social distancing guidelines does not always have to be something that costs a fortune. In this blog, we are going to outline just some of the ways that paper wristbands can be used to promote social distancing.

Now that ‘normality’ is coming back into fashion - that means events are too. However, how do we know what is appropriate with each person we come into (almost) contact with? Outside of what the legal guidelines are, it is clear that everyone has their own preferences with how they would like to be treated in this post-lockdown world. In order to communicate how people wish to be engaged with, you could use these colour coded wristbands at your next event:
Pink: Ready to Party - This could represent the lowest band, this would be worn by the more carefree members who (with some caution) are not opposed to direct contact with other people.
Green: Ok with Hi5’s and Hugs! - Now research has shown “the necessity of social and emotional touch, both of which, by releasing oxytocin, boost the immune system and lower the heart rate.”

To use these bands, simply have them available at your event and each person can pick out which one that makes the most sense for them. The benefit of these is that it's a cheap way to make sure everyone at your event feels safe and respected. These social distancing wristbands could be enforced at a range of different events; with offices starting to go back to ‘normal’ this means work meetings and even work socials are back on the cards too. Maintaining order is very important right now, especially to hospitals who have been under immense strain to contain the coronavirus. Systems of organisation do not have to be expensive though and social distancing full colour wristbands can really help with directing the flow of people. Anyone and everyone cannot be coming in and out of the hospital whenever they feel like it. A way for hospitals to easily keep tabs on everyone who is going in is to use these wristbands. Before entering a hospital you have to have a temperature check, just to ensure that you are not experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus. To then monitor who has been checked and cleared to enter the hospital that day, the colour of the wristband could correspond to the specific date.
That way, the staff will know that everyone walking around on Monday with a Green wristband has been cleared to come inside. The benefits of doing this are that it saves time, whilst still enforcing safety. Due to the fact that the wristbands are non-reusable, this method stops people from being able to trade it out with others and also abuse the permission granted for access by coming back another day.
